48 Stunden Neukölln - A Lot to Discover

For the 10th time, this festival offers a glimpse into the bubbling cultural realm that is northern Neukölln, one of the most dynamic and creative areas in Berlin. From 20 - 22 June, more than 170 of the most unusual venues offer visitors an array of fascinating experiences and a variety of art forms to savour.

48 Stunden Neukölln is when the diverse art scene in this district really comes to life. More than 1000 individuals will present their artistic activities or the results thereof on this weekend, making it a sort of "What Neukölln Offers". You can let yourself be seduced, discover venues and projects by both native artists as well as those with more international biographies. It's an opportunity to spend 48 hours immersed in the intensity and dazzling array of art, interacting with the people who make that art, in Neukölln.

10th Anniversary Edition in 2008: 48 Hours of Utopian Bliss

This year's theme is the pursuit of happiness, manifesting itself in both participatory art-works and art in public spaces, i.e. on the streets. The pursuit of happiness often manifests itself in notions of ideas of a better world. Guided by the motto of this festival, "Neukölln Utopia" we'll present, for 48 hours, installations in a range of spaces along the central Karl-Marx-Straße, all dealing with the utopian potential inherent in contemporary art.
